Recycling at the Paper Mill
Our customers throughout Scotland often ask us what we do with their paper once it’s been shredded in one of our mobile shredding vehicles or at our Glasgow Depot.
Bales of shredded paper ready for the paper mill.
We deliver the bales of confidential shredded paper to UK paper mills where they are unloaded into a secure storage area.
The bales are then loaded on to a conveyor and fed into a machine called a Hydropulper to be mixed with water to form a slurry.
The slurry is then passed through a four stage screening process to remove staples, paper clips, all plastics and polythene contaminants.
The cleaned slurry is then fed into a machine that makes it into tissue that is used to make paper suitable for conversion into various types hygiene and wiping papers.
The tissue is then sent to the converting department where it is converted into a variety of different tissue products including toilet roll, centrepull wipes, couch rolls and industrial wipes.
